The Aerospace Soldering Skills Upgrading courses aim to upgrade the skill level of avionics technicians in Aerospace Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) industry, as well as to establishd a pipeline of skilled locals for the industry.

By forming best-in-class partnerships with avionic industry and other academia, leveraging the individual strengths of our partners, we recognize the ultimate benefits that are born of these types of high level collaborations.

Synopsis

The intensive 5 days course is not just theory and lecture. Participants will spend 80% of the course time on practicing to perform repair on PCBs including solder wires to turret, bifurcated, J-hook, cup terminals and construct SMT board. Types of components are varied and include components ranging from 1206 chip components to fine pitch gull wing devices. And perform repair on PCB’s including replacement of damaged PTH barrels via the use of replacement eyelets and fullelets, replacement of damaged surface mount pads, replacement of damaged circuits (traces), and installation of jumper wires on PCB’s. Upon completion of all component types the students will remove the components using a variety of conductive and convective methodology.

We will customize the course to accommodate special requirements that the avionics industry may have.
